REST Recycling
REST Recycling is a dynamic company driven by a deep-seated commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable waste management. While the company formally registered in 2023, its operations began quietly in 2017, setting the groundwork for its current success and ambitious future.
The vision for REST Recycling was born from the passion of its Managing Director, Asamkele Nkosi. His love affair with recycling and environmental care started during his high school years, where he was an active Eco member. This early dedication to sustainability fueled his desire to transform waste into a resource. To bring this vision to life, Nkosi partnered with his former educator, Nozi Njobe, blending youthful drive with seasoned wisdom to establish the business.
What We Do: Collection, Education, and Innovation
REST Recycling currently plays a vital role in the circular economy by collecting key recyclable materials from communities, schools, and companies. Our accepted materials include white paper, cans, plastic bottles, and cardboard. This essential collection service diverts significant volumes of waste from landfills, conserving natural resources and reducing pollution.
More than just a collection service, REST Recycling is invested in nurturing the next generation of environmentalists. Through our pioneering Enviro School Programme, we actively engage children, teaching them the proper methods of recycling and instilling in them a lifelong commitment to taking care of the environment.
The Road Ahead: Manufacturing Our Future
While our current focus is on collection and education, the main goal of REST Recycling is to close the loop completely: to manufacture our own new materials from the recyclables we collect. This innovative step will transform us from a recycling collector into a sustainable manufacturer, creating high-quality products while minimising environmental impact.
As REST Recycling continues to grow, it stands as a testament to the power of passion—turning a high school interest into a registered business that is making a tangible difference for the planet and the community.
