My entrepreneurial journey started at the age of 16, helping my mom during school holidays at Kwantu Towers, where she worked at American Mini Donuts. That experience sparked a passion for business and customer connection. After school, I worked at St George’s Cricket Stadium and later joined Condor Vending, where Ernest Gerber — my first mentor — took me under his wing.

In 2001, I joined Ford Motor Company, working on the production line until 2006. During that year, Ernie sold me the cricket business, and soon after being retrenched, Mini Orbits was born. What started as a small setup grew into three retail stores — at The Boardwalk, The Bridge Mall, and Baywest Mall.

The pandemic in 2020 brought everything to a halt, but owning my machinery allowed me to pivot from retail to wholesale, giving birth to Orbits Intergalactic Donuts. Inspired by lessons from Rich Dad Poor Dad, I focused on building assets that generate income.

Today, we not only produce gourmet donuts and DIY Airfry Mini Donut Kits, but also create jobs and upskill local youth — proving that with resilience and innovation, you can always rise again.

2026 will mark three decades at the beloved St George’s Cricket Stadium, something I’m most proud of. With the excitement of the SA20, our stall has become a true heritage icon — where people literally come to the cricket for Mini Donuts.

As Malcolm Gladwell wrote in The Tipping Point, “Little things can make a big difference.” No pun intended — so do our Mini Donuts in this case. With your support, I believe Orbits Intergalactic Donuts is right on the edge of that tipping point.
